We invite you to join Lubiana, one of the few women in the world who plays the kora—a 13th-century African instrument similar to a harp, traditionally played exclusively by male musicians and storytellers, and now nearly forgotten. Growing up between two continents, two cultures, and two completely different worlds, Lubiana found in music—and later in the kora—not just an instrument, but a path to herself. A path she had long dreamed of.

For the first time in Romania, Lubiana, a singer and composer who brings the kora into contemporary music, will perform at The Inner – Mapping Inside 2026 in Cluj-Napoca, June 5–7. A graduate with honors from the Royal Conservatory of Leuven, Lubiana has performed on stages in London, Paris, Los Angeles, Cameroon, Mali, Senegal, and The Gambia, collaborating with artists such as Toumani Diabaté and Gaël Faye.
